GTC Podium in SCO

This weekend saw our SCO teams compete once again in Round 3 for Six hours of Nurburgring GP. It was continued success for our GTC team but a round to forget for the LMP2 team.

The 6 hour enduro once again provided great racing throughout the classes on show, our GTC team of Daniel Ferguson and Ross MacFarlane claimed a second place finish after a slow early pit stop. A strong fight back through the field to claim second and to retain the championship lead as we head into the winter break.

The LMP2 squad of Dan Craft and Eric Grove however had a trying afternoon but gallantly finished the race after early heavy damage. Contact from behind on the opening lap dropped them down from 9th to 17th. A good looking recovery back into the top ten was stopped short after Dan had a half spin into turn one, and when recovering was hit hard by an oncoming car which ultimately killed the race as there was 4 minutes spent in the pitlane for repairs but also the car was down on straight line speed with lasting damage. The team ended up finishing the race in 17th.

The series next round will be on the 16th January, with a 4 hour race at Silverstone.
