It ended up being a challenging weekend for the LMP2 team competing in the IVRA Endurance championship.  Our drivers Paulo Munoz and David Baker took the wheel for a frantic 4 hour race around the Australian Phillip Island racetrack.

Paulo qualified the car in P5, however within the opening laps a small mistake led to the team quickly dropping down to 10th place. Whilst the pace was similar to first and second place paulo was making progress regaining positions, and then a safety was called. Paulo  dove down the pits however a team error in the pit lane procedure led to race control issuing the team a drive through penalty which hampered the teams progress and cost vital track position.

There was a limited amount of green flag running as we saw the safety car make four appearances in the first half of the race for on track incidents which really hindered the team's recovery.

On the 2:15 mark, under another full course yellow, Dave Baker jumped in the car to take it home for the last 1:45. In a stint with very little green flag racing, he managed to gain back a lot of the time lost due to the earlier drive through penalty, running up to 6th overall at times depending on the pit cycle. A small mistake coming out of the Siberia turn meant falling down to 1th overall, 8th in class. However due to post race penalties the team incurred a time penalty for an on track incident and the final result for the team was P9 in class.

Overall there was over an hour spent under safety cars in a messy race, the amount of safety cars made it difficult for the team where small mistakes were costly for overall track position and race strategy. The team is looking forward to the next round in December for a 2.4 hour sprint race at Barber where we hope to bounce back with a strong result.

Finish: 9th

Championship: 5th
