BDH H1 Shifter – H Pattern

The BDH H1 Shifter is a “Work of Art” and the first Professional Grade H Pattern SIM shifter developed by BDH. Now fondly nicknamed the “Bazooka”.

​Originally based on the Ford Escort MKII Rally cars gear shifting mechanism the shifter can be adapted to your personal preferences using its “Tensioning Technology” to ensure that you get the feel that you are looking for.

The shifter has undergone 100’s of hours of live testing, weighing just under 4kg, the Bazooka is built to undergo the stresses you’d expect on track.

​Platform

​The BDH configuration features an 8 speed shifter including 6 forward gears and two further gears for reverse, all which can be configured to your driving preference, whether driving on the left or right for example as well as giving you the option of reverse forward or backwards.

The BDH shifter is reflective of the gearbox of a race car, inspired by some of the greatest gearboxes such as the Ford GT40, Lamborghini Countach and the latest Aston Martin AMR Vantage. Mechanical realism is at the heart of the BDH H Pattern shifter, it’s “Tensioning Technology” alongside its options of gearstick lengths help mimic several cars out of the box, as well as giving the driver the precise adjustments that meet their requirements.

​The shifter is also available with several additional Gear stick lengths, giving you further configuration capabilities to match your driver style and that of your car.

The BDH H Pattern shifter includes a number of mounting options, the shifter can be mounted directly on top of your rig or to the side, not only enhancing the aesthetics of your rig, and functionally giving drivers a wider shifting reach that suits their comfort level and realism.

The BDH shifter is used by both virtual and physical racers alike and utilised on the rigs of various racing driver academies, such as Motorsport UK. BDH has several professional racing car drivers using its shifter for both winter testing and pre-race testing across a number of Pro and Club series.

​Material

​The BDH shifter is built utilising the parts you would find in a physical race car gearbox. From years of building gearboxes and racing cars we appreciate there should be no compromise. Our products are built using 835M19 steel and precision machined aerospace aluminium, we also use the renowned Rally gear knob from Motamec.
